Melting Pax

Photographic exhibition by Pier Giorgio Nosari and Gianfranco Rota

Eighteen authors, chosen among philosophers, writers, scientists, religious men, political and spiritual leaders. Eighteen sentences, stolen out of their works or speeches, representative of their belief, life and deeds, or of a part of them: they are “decontextualised” and offered like stimulation, pin stings, invitations to feel and think. And eighteen photographs, taken by Gianfranco Rota or taken out of its archive: associated to the pieces through similarity or contrast, suggestion or interpretation. This is Melting Pax.
It is an exhibition to visit while strolling, maybe giving out to an overall view: to compose passage after passage, with the same casualty of some encounters or revelations, the coincidence of a page opening in a book fallen to the ground, an album of photographs overturning, the sudden emerging to memory of an idea. Peace is the theme. We come closer by fragments, trying to imagine the scattered tiles of the mosaic constituting it, the dissonant fatigues of its construction, the radicalism of choices, the disorientation of points of views that peace imposes.
