According to tradition Notti di Luce closes in the extraordinary framework of Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, in the Upper City. The protagonist of the concert is the chorus of the Cathedral of Västerås Swedish Church, a city in south-east Sweden about one hundred km from Stockholm.
Founded in 1991, the chorus is made up by about forty heterogeneous singers ad is very famous in Sweden so that its music performances are often transmitted by the Swedish TV.
Its repertory, even if mainly focusing on sacred polyphonies, however encompasses a wide range of important authors, from classical (Mozart, Bach, Brahms and Purcell) to modern ones (Pärt, Poulenc, Jennefeldt, Kodály and Sandström), to which two Swedish composers (Stenhammar and Wikander) must be added.
In collaboration with Fondazione Mia – Congregazione della Misericordia Maggiore di Bergamo.
