David Cats “Magique”

When, last year, we had the idea to introduce for the first time in the programming of Notti di Luce magic and illusionism, we doubted they could have success. Both, indeed, beside being considered Art at all, during the decades took up a role the more and more leading in the varied world of show and entertainment in general. The story of magic Art dates back to the ages of Ancient Egypt and crossed with its mystery and fascination the different historical ages. During the XIX century, with Romanticism and the rediscover of occultism, the first illusionists, among which should be distinguished the discoverer of “levitation”, Robert Houdin, precursor of an Art that would find, in the following decades, in Harry Houdini an artist unique in his genre, appeared. To represent in the best way the art of magic the worldwide well-known illusionist David Cats returns to Bergamo, after the great success of the last year.

David Cats, who just come home from a worldwide tour in which he had been the leading protagonist in South America and Northern Europe, will present new extraordinary illusions at Notti di Luce. We remind that in a worldwide preview, he made appear an airplane on the stage of the Donizetti Theatre! 
Accompanied by some of the best emerging artists of the artistic worldwide scene, David is ready to offer to Bergamo’s audience a breathtaking show where rationality is not acknowledged: “Magique”. On stage all his latest creations presented for the first time last winter in South America in front of more than 40.000 watchers.
One of the most difficult illusions, David explains, is levitation live in the theatre. He has committing for some years to the realization of a levitation really spectacular able to make a girl floating in the air at a height of more than 3 meters. This is just one of the news that the illusionist wants to present this year. And then? Mystery is the most proper word! We just have to go and see him live.

Guest artists
Robert, from Germany, will present an act unique in his kind of juggling with light. A modern artist defined by the world’s critics “The Hi Tech Juggler”, for the first time in Italy.

Leonardo Nifosi, specialized in the magic art of Manipulation, rewarded many times with the European Artist Prize, won the Bob Little in 1999, Golden Stick in 2006, the third place at Saint Vincent Magic Festival 2008, Prix Marc Classer Montecarlo Magic Festival Stars 2008.
