For Notti di Luce 10th edition Bergamo Chamber of Commerce wanted to pay an homage to its audience inviting the musician, composer and singer who, most of all, represents Bergamo and Italian pop music joining different generations: Roby Facchinetti. His songs will be performed by Facchinetti himself, supported by Notti di Luce Orchestra and three prestigious female voces: Simona Bencini, for more than ten years front-woman of the group Dirotta su Cuba, versatile solo-singer with many prestigious collaborations (Renato Zero, Claudio Baglioni, Mario Biondi, Ron); Paola Folli (has worked as choirgirl with great singers like Mina, Andrea Bocelli, Adriano Celentano, Ivana Spagna, Pooh and Elio e le storie tese); Paola Milzani, very much appreciated for her vocal and interpretation qualities, maturated thanks to her classical training abd through the experience in theatre and TV, together with a jazz talent out of the order (Bob Mintzer, Franco Ambrosetti, Sarah Jane Morris). On the stage also Fabio Santini, well-known journalist, writer, theatre author, TV and radio anchorman, will have a conversation with Roby Facchinetti on the themes of his music. Roby Facchinetti, a 100% citizen of Bergamo, since 1966 he has belonged to the group of “Pooh” with which he has shared more than forty years of an extraordinary career full of countless national and international awards, golden and platinum discs as token of a popular success without parallel. In the course of years his music has evolved a lot from the beat, to the sperimental pop of the 1960s (“Brennero 66”) and instrumental pop (Parsifal) to authorial songs, always interpreting basic themes and tastes of the audience with a particular consideration for arrangement and choice of uptodate musical sounds always following his deep musical personality. Their extraordianry career begun in 1966, the year they won their first award (Festival delle Rose with “Brennero 66”); in ‘70 they are touring in Japan, in ‘72 in Venezuela and England. “Parsifal” (1973) is a sold-out success for more than ten years with 400.000 sold copies. In ’74 they win the golden disc for “Un po’ del nostro tempo migliore” and their first anthology “Pooh 1971-1974”, in ‘75 they leave for a long and lucky tour in East Europa: Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and Romania; in ’77 they are in Canada, United States and South America. They enthusiastically celebrate their twenty-year-career: they are appointed “Republic’s Knights”. In ‘81 after their anthology “Pooh 1978-1981” they debut live in South America and Russia. They record at Hawaii (Aloa) and in Japan (Asia non Asia). In ’90 they take part for the first time to the Festival of Sanremo: they win with the song “Uomini soli”. In ’91 their greatest hits “25…la nostra storia” exceeds 800.000 sold copies, gaining the quadruple platinun disc. In ‘92 their new CD “Il cielo è blu sopra le nuvole” is triple platinum disc with more than 300.000 sold copies. In ’96 “Amici per sempre”, platinum disc already before release, in the following week it is in the toplist; “The Best Of Pooh” wins five platinum discs, in 2001 “Cento di queste vite” four, in 2002” Best Of The Best”, three. In 2006 they celebrated their 40th anniversary. Their last album (“Beat Regeneration”) was released on 1st February 2008.
