The quality of this orchestra, that performs repertory seasons in the most important halls in Bucarest, with important guest directors among which Christoph Poppen, Eduardo Alvarez, Emin Guven Yaslicam, is demonstrated by the fact that it is often invited by the Rumanian President and Prime Minister to exhibit on the occasion of visits by the most important politicians of the world in Romania. Since its foundation it has been touring all over Europe and has been invited to many prestigious international festivals in Europe. It had a great success at the Crans Montana Forum in Switzerland and recently has been chosen to celebrate the Rotary International Centenary with a concert in the Big Hall of Bucarest Radio transmitted live on the national Radio and TV. The most qualified international critique praised many times among the typical qualities of this formation its sound freshness and elegance combined with the brilliant technique of its musicians. Florin Totan, graduated in double-bass at Bucarest Musical University, started studying orchestrial direction with C.Bugeanu then experiencing in Germany, Italy and France. After winning the orchestrial direction international contests in Murzzuschlag, Austria (1990), and Berlin (1991), he begun a brilliant concert activity which lead him to exhibit in the most important cities of France, Italy, England, Israel, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Austria, ex Yugoslavia, Belgium, Switzerland, USA, Aegypt, Ecuador, Finland, Mexico, Turkey. He recorded for the Rumanian Radio pieces of Haydn, Mozart, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Brahms.
