Antonella Ruggiero’s recital - Sacrarmonia
with Mark Harris, piano
Carlo Cantini, violin
A mosaic thick with intelligent signals and forces, a travel in time and space, an ideal soundtrack of the soul: this is how Sacrarmonia sets up, the project successfully drawn and realized on an album by Antonella Ruggiero, one of the most wellversed and exciting voices in the Italian scene.
Antonella’s name has crossed last twentyfive years of Italian music: with her songs she has told and followed in parallel the evolution and trajectory of costums, predilection of the audience. Firstly with Matia Bazar and then, since the ‘90s, with a solo career,as much varied as full of success, her ability as interpreter, entwined with natural curiosity, the desire to range over the bundaries of traditional patterns and languags, has managed to reach areas and points virtually very far away from each other.
In occasion of Sacrarmonia, Antonella tempts to perlustrate areas and materials full of historyand provided with extraordinary fascination an evocative power, an accurate clue to read the new millennium looking and probing among the hidden treasures to retrieve: from Middle-Aes music to gospel and Indian music.
Sacrarmonia is also a zig-zag itinerary across cultures and idioms very far away from each other.
