Andrea and Giulia, Franco and Gian Carlo, Umberto and Robertino and I put together, with love, a small play script.

Within there are some words that ourselves, or other colleague actors uttered in some memorable performances by Giorgio Strehler.

And we will quote these fragments like fleeting shreds of memories from our heart and history.

With regret we renounced to say other words: words, of Giorgio, master of poetry, art and of morality in art; our words, of friends and collaborators that owed to Him if sometimes we trapped into beauty and joy; words written by great poets that created characters we approached with trembling and bravery, humilty and pride, cogency and sweet abandon, with easy fatigue, strong in our difficult tender dangerous craft that He taught us.

Words that tonight don’t exalt the interpreters or the authors, but they are, they want to be, just a sweet memory of the Master of us and of other, many, much many actors and of many, much many spectators. Words that, as it always happens in the theatre, will vanish. But our gratitude and our love for Giorgio Strehler, a man of theatre, of art, a man won’t vanish.
