Orobit: the eye of the park
in collaboration with parco dei Colli di Bergamo

A very few industrialized cities, like Bergamo, can boast such an enviable geographical loxcation. Besides the architectonic qualities of the ancient walled city, Bergamo numbers woods, naturalistic areas, orchards where excellent food products are grown, guaranteeing a higher quality of life which offers many opportunities to ita inhabitants, the retrieval and reconverting of the shabby spaces, to the social partecipation in the territory management, to the typical production that have almost widely overstepped Bergamo’s boundaries.
Bergamo’s Consorzio Parco dei Colli has made it concrete in the Pattern, the project of the European economic community, meant to develop a new concept of territory management through different activities that have been started in these months with a considerable partecipation thanks to the sinergy developed by institutions, social cooperatives, public agencies, volountary associations. Notti di Luce, according to the subject chosen (The city and the eyes), has taken the chance offered by the Pattern project promoting the evnts taking place in Bergamo in parco dei Colli area through an interactive display allested in the yard of the Chamber of Commerce.
The display, conceived in the shape of an “eye” that observes, gathers and elaborates information on the park life, starting from the real “park eyes” in Bergamo, the Orobits: real technologic installations placed in strategic positions in the park constantly monitored by means of web-cams. So it will be possible to discover a real prairie where wild orchids grow naturally, to get to know the woods surrounding bergamo and the area of the torrent Quisa turned into a naturalistic area, to apreciate the typical products of our orchards and hills (the scarola salad and olive oil), jams and juices made with wild berries: a glance on Parco dei Colli that bring Bergamo, and its surrounding villages, in an alternative dimension and at the same time complementary to the technologic urban development of the XXI century society .
